Vegan Burger Recipe

A vegan burger can be just as satisfying, packed with protein, veggies, and bold flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (400 g) chickpeas or black beans, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 vegan burger buns
  • Vegan mayo, lettuce, tomato, and avocado slices

Instructions

1. Prepare the mixture
Mash the chickpeas (or black beans) in a bowl. Add grated carrot, onion, breadcrumbs, olive oil, and spices.
Mix until well combined and form 4 patties. Chill for 15 minutes.

2. Cook the patties
Pan-fry in a little oil over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side, until crisp and golden.
Alternatively, you can bake them at 200°C for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

3. Assemble your vegan burger
Spread vegan mayo on the bun, add lettuce, tomato, the veggie patty, and top with avocado slices.
Close with the top bun and enjoy a 100% plant-based burger full of flavor and texture.
