Fish Burger Recipe
For a light and flavorful alternative to the classic beef burger, a fish burger is perfect — crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside.
Ingredients
- 500 g white fish fillets (like cod, haddock, or tilapia)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- Lettuce, tomato slices, tartar sauce, or mayonnaise for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the fish mixture
Cut the fish into chunks and place them in a food processor. Add egg, breadcrumbs, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Pulse until combined but not completely smooth — you want a bit of texture.
2. Shape the patties
Form the mixture into 4 equal patties. Place them on a tray and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to help them firm up.
3. Cook the patties
Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the fish patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
4. Assemble your fish burger
Spread tartar sauce or mayo on the bottom bun, add lettuce and tomato, place your crispy fish patty on top, and finish with the top bun.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges or fries on the side.
